Host families
Please let us know if you are interested in hosting an intern for the three-month period they are interning in the Haifa, Tel Aviv or Jerusalem areas.
The Palestinian Internship Program depends on the generosity of its supporters in order to continue to match young Palestinian technology/business graduates and entrepreneurs with high-quality internship experiences and build on the huge impact it has made to date:
Dozens of Palestinian interns working at host companies including MNCs such as HP, Intel, Reuters, Teva, as well as a number of Israeli and Palestinian startups and VCs.
80% of the interns were unemployed or in part-time or unskilled labor before joining PIP.
Through PIP, over two-thirds of interns gained experience in their fields for the first time.
Skills development workshops led by top CEOs and US/UK business school figures.
Around 50% of interns have been female (compared to 18% in the Palestinian private sector).
Over 40% of participants from the West Bank, despite political instability and the difficulty of obtaining permits to enter Israel.
One PIP alumnus has already founded a startup, another received a Fulbright scholarship, a third went on to study at the London School of Economics!
Over a third of interns have remained at their companies following their internships.
All interns commit to deploying their skills for the benefit of the Palestinian economy.
Beyond the abovementioned successes of PIP’s internships, there are a number of other reasons why PIP offers particularly high value for donors:
PIP is a US-registered not-for-profit with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
PIP operates with extremely low overhead; currently only one salaried worker (planned rise to two) and receives legal support, tax filing and many other services on a pro-bono basis
All host companies pay interns’ salaries and donate ‘finder’s fees’ to PIP if the intern remains at their company.
PIP recruits interns and host companies, provides interns’ travel/lodging grants, arranges skills workshops and company visits, applies for permits, and supports interns post-internship.
